John is a Partner in Mercer’s investment consulting business and market business leader for Investments responsible for the Middle East, and developing Mercer market presence in South Africa, India and Turkey. He has over 30 years working in the investment industry in London, with both experience in consulting and banking. Recently relocating to Dubai in October 2015, he advises pension schemes, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and insurance companies on all aspects of investment strategy including business planning, implementation and manager selection.
He is a member of the Mercer Hedging Oversight committee which formulates Mercer’s views on liability hedging with respect to interest rates, and inflation. He is also part of the Mercer Dynamic Asset Allocation team that provides market views on individual asset classes.
John joined Mercer in January 2012 having spent five years with Aon Hewitt working as a lead investment consultant. Prior to 2007, he had a 20 year career in the banking industry for both Mitsubishi Bank and Gulf International Bank (GIB) gaining extensive trading experience covering derivatives and Government bond markets. John was Chair of Trustees for the GIB defined benefit pension scheme.
John holds a BA in Accountancy from the University of Exeter.
