Diversity & Inclusion

The challenges faced by Mercer’s 25,000 clients don’t fit neatly into any one category, and neither do our 20,000 colleagues ... we like it that way. At Mercer, we pride ourselves on having a diverse and inclusive culture, where different perspectives - professional and personal - are respected and welcomed.

At Mercer, diversity means:

Mercer fosters an inclusive culture that elevates our people to the highest level of performance and engagement by drawing on their different personal characteristics and life experiences. Harnessing the diverse backgrounds, experiences and approaches of our people isn’t just a business necessity- it’s the right thing to do.

Mercer will ensure an environment where all colleagues have an equal opportunity to contribute to the firm and progress in their careers.

Raising the diversity, inclusion and cultural competency of our organization is key to our success. Diversity enriches the solutions we bring our clients, helping to achieve a more balanced vision and platform of success.

Mercer offers innovative approaches to working that support our colleagues and strengthen our competitive advantage.

Diversity is one of our values, and our diversity efforts center around our commitment to our colleagues, to our clients and to the communities in which we work.

Ongoing employee learning opportunities
Mercer offers colleagues a variety of diversity resources and learning opportunities, such as workshops and online courses, to promote awareness of diversity issues and increase competence in identifying, understanding and addressing those issues.

Business Resource Groups

Mercer's Business Resource Groups (BRGs) are made up of colleagues with a common identity who receive recognition and support by the company. These groups provide a forum for colleagues to network, share ideas and collaborate on programs important to the business and our clients. BRG activities foster understanding, inclusion, and innovation in the workplace.  Members gain professional development and leadership opportunities that also help Mercer achieve its strategic business imperatives.

Our BRGs are open to all colleagues. They are:
